We recently put up these advertising signs originally found at the Flemingville Grange Hall:
The signs are all hand painted. We wish the sign painter had signed them but he did not. Could be by Westcott, Tinna or Lee, we suppose… all local sign painters from this time.
You’ll notice that many of these businesses no longer exist, or have changed names… how many do you remember?

I remember visiting Stimmings with my grandparents, Hugh & Leona O’Neil! Debbie Moesch and I made many trips from Liberty Street to Nye’s Bakery for their half moon cookies and penny candy! These signs are awesome!
Such a wonderful find….old signs bring back memories of my childhood…love them
My husband, Pete Mallory, went to work for GLF the year he graduated from OFA ’57.
And we both remember all of the business (tells you how old we are!!)
My Dad, Al Berg, owned Valley Radio in Apalachin. I worked after school answering the phone and testing tubes ( remember those? ). I could watch TV on every channel at the same time, all 3 of them!
